Aperture priorities that is ~ f4.6 ~ I normally take photos like the one above with a larger aperture (larger means smaller # ~ smaller # = less in focus) because I usually like the background blurred
This time though I think I actually like the smaller aperture(=larger number =more in focus) photo better with the spiky tree tops in the background F40 ~ The biggest thing I have learned this week is that my sensor is in serious need of a cleaning~
yes, with the smaller aperture I have had to photoshop out the pesky hair that has taken up residence inside my camera some place ~ along with a few too many dust spots.. don’t notice them hardly at all when I use a larger aperture.
F40~ more in focus…
Also I have to take a moment to day to include the February Calendar~ Cuz it is February already…
I have already sent out the unwatermarked copies to all who ordered the magazine online. A free bonus for your support.
For anyone interested in just ordering the desktop calendars ~ they are for use on your computer only and $1.00 / month ~ (link can be found in the right hand column)

As usual, more of the wonderful animal images I’ve loved over the years.
–And I can sympathize with you about pesky sensor dust. It was a terrible problem with my Canon5D. Several months ago I upgraded to the Mark2 5D which has the self-cleaning feature, and I had my doubts, but it actually does work. Oh, I may find a spot occasionally but a day or two later I find that the spot has vanished. A really neat feature, because cleaning the sensor is a real drag. Usually takes me several tries no matter what method I use. By the way, a lot of people are frightened of cleaning their own sensor because of it’s assumed delicate nature, but in reality the only thing we are cleaning is the glass I.R. filter that sits directly on top of the sensor element. I shouldn’t assume things but just wanted to mention that in case you didn’t know.
